A warm welcome into the Pearl of Africa! Get briefing from your safari leader for 14-day across Uganda gorilla & chimpanzee experience. After, transfer to your pre-booked lodge in Murchison Falls National Park for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay as you wait for the next day’s exciting safari activities/adventures.
A journey to Murchison Falls National Park is expected to cover about 5-6 hours in a good 4x4 tourist vehicle, and this begins from Kampala via Luweero-Masindi route. En-route prime location for stopover visit will be Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, an amazing experience that lets you enjoy a close view of rhinos on foot.
Murchison Falls N.P lies in the extreme Northwestern Uganda, and it is the country’s largest park, with its borders spreading to cover up to 3840sq.km. Today, you will begin your morning game drive through the Northern game track, taking 2-3 hours with higher chances to spot lions, elephants, the Rothschild giraffes, warthogs, buffaloes, leopards, bird species, antelopes and others.
Lunch served to you on return from a game drive, and continue with 2pm boat tour on Victoria Nile connecting to the base of the Murchison Falls. Enjoy an uninterrupted view of aquatic life in large numbers including hippos, crocodiles, and bird species.
After a hefty breakfast, you will transfer to Kibale National Park, 7-8 hours’ drive through Hoima oil city while enjoying the beautiful landscape, homesteads and arrive at Fort Portal tourism city early for lunch break. Proceed after lunch to check in at your accommodation in Kibale N/Park, western Uganda and this is where 13 primate species all live including more than 1500 chimpanzees.
Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park offers a lifetime opportunity for you to get up close and personal with chimpanzee community in the wild. Your journey to see these amazing apes starts early in the morning after breakfast and briefing at Kanyanchu tourist center and it will go for 2-4 hours. This is inclusive of 1 hour for photography, and exploring about the daily behaviors of chimpanzees in their natural habitat.
In the jungles of Kibale, expect to see more than chimpanzees because you will also see several of playful olive baboons, l’hoest monkeys, colobus monkeys, etc. At 2pm after leisurely lunch, transfer to Bigodi for a 2-hour nature walk to view more primates, birds like the Great blue turacos.
Leave Kibale for Queen Elizabeth National Park, 2-3 hours’ drive and you will have a relaxed day at the lodge. Queen Elizabeth NP is home to over 95 mammal species and holds large herds of elephants, buffaloes, etc.
A game drive along Kasenyi track starts before the sun rises and for 2-3 hours, expect to see large herds of buffaloes, lions, antelopes, warthogs, birds, elephants. Lunch be provided at the lodge on return and then embark on 2pm boat cruise on Kazinga channel. The 2-3 hours’ boat tour offers incredible sights of hippos, crocodiles, aquatic birds.
Transfer to Kyambura Gorge for morning chimpanzee trek and this is expected to last for 2-4 hours with a special one hour for a close encounter. Other primates and birds will also be viewed along the way as you track chimpanzees and, in the evening, set off for a night game drive. A night game will get you exposed to numerous nocturnal animals like leopards, hyenas, mongoose and birds.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Bwindi via Ishasha where tree climbing lions will be sighted. A bush lunch will follow and you proceed to check in at the gorilla tour lodge.
A special day to meet the endangered mountain gorillas and this is expected to last for 2-6 hours of searching for the family gorillas assigned to you at Buhoma sector. Strictly 1 hour is guaranteed for you interact with gorillas and this includes taking pictures, learning more about their daily behaviors and settle for lunch, then get back for relaxation.
Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest Lake and home to 29 charming islands for full day relaxation or have enough time to swim. Overnight stay will be at the luxurious lodges in the nearby areas.
An early morning breakfast, followed by canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. Visit one of the magical islands on Lake Bunyonyi and key interest will be the Punishment Island while also sighting for birds. Late in the evening, combine your day recreation activities with Batwa experience and return for overnight stay at the lodge.
Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, home to huge zebra and impala population. Get here early, and embark on a guided game drive in the afternoon to see zebras, giraffes, elands, impalas, bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs, leopards, buffaloes, birds etc. Late in the evening, leave the lodge for night game drive to see many nocturnal species.
Have a hefty breakfast, after you will be led by an experienced guide on a nature walk for about 2 hours. Enjoy a close view of wildlife and birds, then return to the lodge to check out and be transferred to Kampala with en-route stopover at Equator. Travel for the next destination.
