The 7 -Day Uganda gorilla & chimpanzee safari will be spent exploring Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On each of the three Uganda safari parks, you have unique experiences to enjoy. In Kibale National Park, you will be engaged in an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience, game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park then mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Set off for Kibale National Park, 5-6 hours’ drive via Mubende-Fort Portal route. Settle for lunch at Fort Portal and after, proceed to Bigodi Wetland, a papyrus swamp where you will have a nature walk. Enjoy great sight of primates, birds such as the Great blue turacos and more then get to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Accommodation
After breakfast, gather for briefing at Kanyanchu Visitor Center in Kibale National Park starting at 7:00am. At 8:00am, you will be accompanied by the park guide for 2-4 hours walk to see chimpanzees. Along the way, there will be some small primates and other species to interest you such as the colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys, butterflies, birds, red tailed monkeys, baboons, etc.
Once you have come across chimpanzees, you will settle for an hour with them, take pictures and learn more on their daily behaviors. Later, you will return, have lunch and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Leave the lodge as early as possible, have breakfast and by 6:00am, set off for a game drive to see the big game and other small mammals. Expected sightings range from bush elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards (on the lucky day), birds, warthogs, waterbucks, bush bucks and more. Return after 2-3 hours of game viewing in Kasenyi Plains, settle for lunch and in the afternoon, get the best of a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel to see lots of aquatic life from hippos, crocodiles to birds.
Begin your journey to Bwindi a home of mountain gorillas after breakfast and taking the Ishasha sector route. En-route, a brief game drive will be done at Ishasha to see the tree climbing lions, enjoy a bush lunch then continue to check in at the lodge in Bwindi National Park, Southwestern Uganda.
After a hefty breakfast, meet the park official for briefing at park offices. Get to know the gorilla trekking rules to be followed and also, the park guide will be allocated to escort you. At 8:00am, actual trek for 2-6 hours starts and this covers one hour of close encounter with a gorilla family upon finding it. After a deep learning about mountain gorilla daily behaviors, walk back to the lodge for relaxation, lunch and then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
Enjoy an early morning cup of tea or coffee, after set off for a canoe trek or ride on Lake Bunyonyi. You will be visiting one of the magical islands – about 29 of them are distributed on Lake Bunyonyi.
Enjoy the morning breakfast, after check out of the lodge and board your 4x4 tourist vehicle. Next, drive to Kigali for departure or settle at the hotel awaiting to transfer to your next destination.
